Animal hip replacements are surgical procedures designed to relieve pain and restore mobility in pets affected by conditions such as hip dysplasia, arthritis, or severe joint injuries. The main objective of this surgery is to replace a damaged or diseased hip joint with an artificial implant, significantly enhancing the pet’s quality of life. This procedure is most commonly performed on dogs and cats, especially larger breeds or those experiencing degenerative joint diseases. Veterinarians carefully assess several factors, including age, weight, and overall health, to determine whether a pet is a suitable candidate for the surgery.
Primary care is the day-to-day healthcare given by a health care provider. Typically this provider acts as the first contact and principal point of continuing care for patients within a healthcare system, and coordinates other specialist care that the patient may need.
